Workshops
There are lots of different lambada styles and many different levels of competence. The main levels are categorised as beginner, intermediate and advanced.
The congress caters for students of all levels. In order to decide on the most appropriate classes for you, it is important to understand your own level.
Which level is right for you?
Firstly, do not over estimate yourself!
There is nothing more disconcerting than feeling self-conscious and out of your depth because you cannot follow the lesson. Instead, join a lower level class, so that you can get to grips with the techniques necessary to get the most out of a more advanced class.
However, do not underestimate yourself!
If you find a class boring and de-motivating the chances are you have chosen a class that is too easy for you. Instead, get yourself along to a class that suits your level better and you will feel more challenged and stimulated.
Beginner
- Have you only had a few Zouk-lambada classes?
- Are you an experienced dancer of other styles of dance but have only had a few Zouk-lambada lessons?
- Have you started classes in the last three months?
- Have you not danced a lot of Zouk-lambada in club venues?
- Are you very uncomfortable with the lambada beat?
If you reply "yes" to any of the above questions, you fit into this level.
The congress will enable you to establish a solid foundation in the various styles of lambada, so that you are able to go to clubs and feel more relaxed and able to enjoy yourself and develop your lambada skills
Intermediate
- Are you already familiar with the rhythm and frequently go out dancing Zouk-lambada in clubs?
- Are you able to differentiate between the various basic rhythms with ease?
- Are you comfortable with the steps to the point that you no longer have to think about them?
- Does the rhythm come to you naturally?
- Are you trying to learn more advanced moves, but still find it difficult to feel relaxed when dancing?
At this level you will learn to improve your dance, through learning more elegant moves and developing your style and confidence
Advanced
- Do you dance with ease?
- Are you an enthusiastic Zouk-lambada club goer? Are you familiar with various styles of the dance?
- Are you happy with interpreting the music in various ways by dancing according to the different instruments and beats?
At this level you will learn to be a much more competent dancer through developing your confidence in different styles of lambada. You will grasp the techniques required for spinning and learn to recognize and dance various different styles of lambada whilst utilizing a range of beats within the music.
Professional
- Do you already know the various lambada styles and feel at home on any dance floor?
- Is your aim to develop your technique and specific skills?
At this level you’ll learn very elaborate moves and ways of dancing, in addition to new methods of choreography and moves you can incorporate into shows.
