Berg Dias photo Berg Dias is a Brazilian dancer and instructor of Lambada. He holds a professional teaching qualification from the UK Alliance and has been performing and teaching to a high standard for 18 years along with his two sisters, Solange and Magda Dias. Berg and Solange have been dance partners for 15 years and are known worldwide for their incredible, passionate interpretation of the music in their breathtaking performancesTogether they have taught most of the Lambada that is seen in London. Many of their students have reached a professional level and won dance competitions. They've been giving classes at Danceworks in London for 14 years and have promoted Lambada around the world by giving lessons and doing shows in many different countries. They've performed on MTV and most recently on the BBC with Simply Red for Strictly Come Dancing. Berg's dance group, Viva Brazil, has performed all over the UK.

Solange Dias photo Solange Dias is one of the world's most highly recognised dancers and choreographers of Lambada. Qualified with the UK Alliance, she has been teaching and performing internationally for 15 years and has appeared numerous times on television. A leading figure in the Lambada world, she is known for her original, sensual style and the passionate energy she brings to the dance.

Solange is from Porto Seguro, Brazil, where Lambada originates. She has performed and taught worldwide but, after a spell in Italy, she moved to London and has been based there for the last 10 years. She was first taught by her brother Berg who is now her dance partner and together they are considered to be one of the top Lambada partnerships in the world. She has won both the World Lambada and Salsa Championships (Lambada 1995 and Salsa in 2001) and is also an experienced teacher and performer of Samba.

Solange teaches with Berg in Danceworks, one of the top dance schools in London, but also gives workshops and private classes where she focuses on developing her students' style and core understanding of Lambada. She is involved with many international projects and has worked with schools, theatre, film and television. She was a performer and consultant on Strictly Dance Fever 2005 and 2006 and has appeared in many music videos including ones for Basement Jaxx, Marc Almond, Victor Manuel, Viramundo and Simply Red.

Solange's passion for Lambada is evident in both her teaching style and in her powerful performances. She has an ability to both encourage and inspire her students whilst commanding focus and commitment. Both she and Berg are dedicated to promoting and developing Lambada worldwide.

Aochan photo Aochan (Nagamoto) is Japanese. Aochan's teaching style, created through his years of experience of having taught in different parts of the world, is fun and easy to understand. His style of dance is natural and smooth, and comfortable. This is why anyone who dances with Aochan's students can feel good when dancing. He is also very well acclaimed for his choreography, especially "Aochan's Carnival Samba with Percussion, NY, 1999" (the video is available from his website http://www.tropicalny.com/.)

Braz dos Santos photo Braz was one of the dancers with the world famous Lambada band Kaoma that launched Lambada on the global scene in 1989. He was the leading dancer in Kaoma from 1989 to 1994 and toured with them through 64 countries. He is the founder of Lambada (known as ‘LambaZouk’ in a number of countries), a form of Brazilian partner dance, in Porto Seguro, Brazil. Braz has taught and performed at many high-profile dance events and won many competitions, including 7-time 1st prize winner of the Annual National Lambada Competition in Brazil. He taught and performed in the World Lambada Congress in 2003 (Brazil) and in 2004/2005 in Barcelona, Spain, and in Porto Seguro, Brazil. Braz is now a teacher at BraSaZouk, teaching his energetic, wonderful style of LambaZouk!

Buiũ & Beckie photo Beckie has been teaching, performing & choreographing dance for 7 years.

She was originally taught by Berg Dias & currently teaches with his Latinmania dance Company. Beckie is a UK Alliance professionally qualified dance instructor & has a background in Performing Arts - acting, dancing & choreographing for a number of London based Brazilian Groups.

She has worked internationally in theatre, schools and for corporate companies such as Bloomberg & is the Entertainments Executive for the Ladies & Gentlemen Club (leading African Community Club in London).

Beckie with her brother & dance partner Samson are the Lambada UK Champions, 2001. She taught him lambada and he is now recognised as one of the top male dancers & performers in London. Born & raised in Africa Beckie has a natural resonance with the music we use today to dance Lambada - (Zouklove), she has an innate flare & passion for dance & is experienced in a variety of styles including Samba, African Dance, Axe, Afro & Street Jazz.

Her patient & calm persona together with clear articulation make her a very effective & talented teacher. She has a unique glide in her style as she moves to the rhythm of the music. In Brazil she is likened to a "Pequena Borboleta" (little butterfly).


Buiu has been dancing a long time and his style is distinguished by his masterfull leadership of the women. A highly energetic dancer, he is also an excellent axé dancer.

Cleidson Santos & Iara dos Santos photo Cleidson santos, the cia de danca Planet Zouk began dancing lambada in 1996 in Porto Seguro in 'Reggae Night', a renowned lambada club from the 'old days', follwed by Barrapoint and Cazouk. Since then he has been a dancer at more than 20 clubs and performed shows at clubs such as Axe Moi, Barramares and Toa Toa. In addition he is a DJ and organiser of Zouk Lambada club nights in Porto Seguro and Arraial d'Ajuda. He is responsible for two dance schools in Bahia. Currently he is a researcher in the style  of zouk lambada, and a student of other rythms and dances, Salsa, Afro, Samba and Capoeira.

Cleidson is a very suave dancer of many years' experience, based in Porto Seguro. He was one of the organisers of lambada congress in Porto Seguro in 2005.

At this time he was invited to take part in numerous lamba-zouk festivals in Porto Seguro. Dario, more recently gave lessons during the 1st international lamba-zouk congress in Porto Seguro and is a director of the “Centro Cultural da danza” in Belo Horizonte.

Demetrius Gonçalves & Aneska França photo Demetriou Goncalves(27) and Aneska Franca(21), couples, classical and modern ballet dancers come from Recife, this incredibly reach scene of dance culture. They are both specialists in the study of the Zouk rhythm.

Demetrius is currently undertaking a post-graduate course in dance.The subject of his thesis is Zouk, as part of Brazilian couples dances, which he considers to be the most advanced and original in the World. Using an analytical system he aims to prove that its' choreography is unsurpassable.

Aneska is a choreographer and dancer. She accompanies Demetrius on this journey, concentrating on the purity of the female movements of Zouk. The couple conduct courses in various states of Brazil, as well as touring abroad.

Gilson Damasco photo Gilson was born in São Paolo, Brazil, and started with the Lambada ever since it was in its footsteps. Being inspired by the group Kaoma and Beto Barbosa, who at that time were spreading the success of the Lambada, Gilson was inspired by the rhythm and started learning the dance. He started developing his skills with the best dancers of Lambada in Porto Seguro.

He has participated in various Lambada concourses in Brazil and started to develop several dancing techniques.

In 1991 he travelled to Argentina, where he was hired to perform numerous shows during different events. Since then Gilson has become the leader of the Zouk scene in Buenos Aires for the past 13 years and taught at the Maluco Beleza club, a focus for the Brazilian rhythms of Zouk, Lambaerobics and Capoeira in Argentina.

Israel Szerman e Patica Borges photo Israel and Patricia Borges are dance teachers from Brasilia from Marcelo Amorim Dance Company.  They visited Rio de Janeiro and were impressed with the way the 'cariocas' dance lambada with zouk music.  Since then they have been practicing lambazouk in their classes and also using it on their shows.

Joseph Koniak photo Joseph Koniak is one of the leading authorities on Salsa and Lambada dance in the UK today. Having trained in all aspects of dance at the 'London Contemporary School of Dance', he brings a unique style to the world of Latin rhythms.

Having started dance from an early age, and now, as a professional dancer Joseph has performed, and choreographed all over the world, in musical Theatre, solo dance productions, and television.

Joseph was a winner of the World Lambada championships in 1994, and was the first officially recognised winner of the UK World salsa championships 1997/1999/2001. He, is also a highly respected teacher and a member of the UKA (United Kingdom Alliance).

Joseph has worked with Gareth Gates as a Coach and chorographer, for his "sunshine" Video in Brazil, and Enrique Iglesias with the UK tour of Bailamos, Touch and Go, Fats and Small, Des O'Conner along with many others.

Joseph most recognisably, choreographed and appears in the BBC1 I dent as the Salsa teacher shown regularly for the last three years.

In 2005, Joseph Koniak was the audition cheorgrapher, judge and coach for the hit series "Strictly Dance Fever" presented by Graham Norton.

Most recently Joseph is performing in the promo for the new 2006 series of "Strictly Dance Fever"

Co-owner and technical director of “Escola sindicato da danca” he is committed to popularizing and teaching his country’s dances, taking great care to maintain the original traditions as well as researching the body movement and teaching methods. He has danced and made presentations in various cities in his own country in addition to Spain, England, Holland and Germany.

Luiz Lula Filho photo Luiz, known as "Lula", has lived in the UK for the last 15 years and is one of the premier lambada teacher in London.

Alongside Karina Padilha and Berg Dias, he helped to introduce lambada to the latin scene in London. He worked as a dancer/teacher in the famous "Bar Madrid" for 08 (eight) consecutive years. He has also worked in Paris at Monte Cristo latin club in Champs Elysee.

Lula has a diploma in journalism and is also a very creative and talented fashion designer, he designs and makes incredible out-fits for his performances.

He has performed for all major TV channels in London, such as: ITV, Channel 4, Channel 4 and BBC. He has also performed in many different countries and has been invited to all major latin dance congresses such as: Latin dance congress - Pontins - UK, Dancabrasil lambada-zouk congress and Lambazouk spiral dance congress both in Barcelona and Brazazouk dance congress in Amsterdam.

He has had as his dance partner one of the greatest lambada dancers in the world, Karina Padilha and his current partner is the fabulous Patricia Cruz.

Lula is a fantastic and inspired artist, with a very peculiar and exclusive style, thanks to his previous experience as a classical and contemporary dancer. He is considered by his students as one of the best lambada teachers due to his unique technique and ability to demonstrate his style, knowledge and experience, during both his dance lessons and performances.

Marisa Gulino & Gary Carr photo MARISA has been teaching and performing Lambada-Zouk for the past 7 years and is a United Kingdom Alliance Qualified Dance Teacher. She has also performed other Brazilian dances such as Samba and Samba Axé with the Beija-Flor Dance Group in London and has a previous dance background of Jazz and Ballet. Marisa is an elegant and graceful Lambadazouk dancer and won 1st Price in the UK Lambada Championships 2001. Marisa is a sensitive and intuitive teacher who gives great encouragement to her students.

GARY has been teaching Lambada -Zouk with Marisa for the past 2 years and is also a United Kingdom Alliance Qualified Dance Teacher. He has a been dancing for the last 10 years with his back background in Jive Lindy & Contemporary dance. Gary has a modern and creative style of dancing Lambada bring out the energy and creativity of his students.

Together Marisa & Gary have organised LambadaZouk Congresses in London in 2005 and 2006 and have taught and performed at LambadaZouk Congresses in Amsterdam 2005 and Barcelona 2006.

Patrícia loves dancing Zouk/Lambada and one of her biggest satisfaction is realizing, on bowls, parties and shows, the evolution of the movement and the fusion of styles.

Patricia also lived in Boston where she studied nutrition and the physiology of exercise(1987-88).Patricia worked in the biggest health club in Sao Paulo as a gymnastics and personal trainer.(Paulistano and Harmonia).Patricia arrived in England in 1991 to perfect her English and stayed until 2005.There she worked as a gymnastics and dance teacher- lamba/zouk.She is a founder of the beija flor dance troupe, whose aim is to promote the Brazilian culture via dance, music and our folklore.The group has appeared in various European and Arab nations. Patricia organized the first Samba and lambada championship in England (1999-2002).She also organized the first lambada congress and Brazilian dance congress in England.(2003)

Patricia loves teaching dance and it gives her great satisfaction to observe the socio/ physical and behavioural improvements in her students, as well as the innumerable other benefits that people acquire through dancing Lambada/Zouk.

Romina Hidalgo photo Romina Hidalgo was born in Buenos Aires and began dancing at the age of 8 with Wilson Damasco and Fabiola Prestes, participating in numerous shows at various events and hotels, including the Savoy. At 15 years of age, she began to assist with classes, later becoming an instructor working with Damasco. She has danced at various hotels, including the Sheraton, Alvear and Hilton, as well as on tv, dancing axe and teaching samba and zouk to children.

Over time she came to be known as Rominita because of the young age at which she began to dance. She has danced with Jose Santos de Braz and her dancing has been inspired by Patricia da Cruz, Josy, Braz and Didi, who taught her new movements and to listen to the music. She worked in Los Arkos and Azucar ( dance club in Buenos Aires), with Damasco, teaching zouk classes and dancing in shows. She also participated as an instructor and dancer at the 2005 Zouk Congress in Porto Seguro.

Nowadays she is employed at Maluco Beleza, giving lessons and continues doing shows.

Sidnei is mostly known as a fantastic and energetic dancer. Not to mention him being a Capoeira Master and a member of the 'Caifazes Group'. He was also a Zouk instructor for Brazilian TV celebrities such as Sheila Mello, Maria Fernanda Cândido, 'Rouge' and Beto Barbosa! Sidnei performed LambaZouk performances for Brazilian celebrities such as 'Falamensa' and Rastapé. And last but not least, Sidnei has a Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu!

Tarcisio & Jada photo Tarcisio is founder of Rio Rhythmics, the largest and first dance academy in Australia with more then 1100 regular students. He has over 25 years of experience as a dance teacher, performer and choreographer in Brasil and Australia. A graduate Physical Education Teacher in Brazil, where he also taught Capoeira e Brazilian Folklore dances for several years, Tarcisio has also independently completed hundreds of hours of study in many styles of dance, including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, modern dance and Authentic South-Central America dance and Capoeira.
